Through general education, including a range of intellectual and physical education courses, Hallym University encourages students to develop their knowledge and virtues, and to cultivate the groundings they need in the era of information and globalization.

Thus, the Division of General Education aims to educate students with the following goal:

To foster judgment and morality for the information society, and to nurture our students¡¯ self-expression and their ability for research in their given fields. The division's main duties are to organize regular general curricula and to offer special lectures to supplement the general curricula.

In general curricula, the division offers composition, computer operations, English conversation, Chinese writing, and physical education to prepare for a global society.

Furthermore, it also offers foreign language courses, as well as courses in arts education, teaching, and public service.

In the case of special lectures, we operate lectures as part of the 'How to Study Program' and invite notables to present seminars, as well as conducting job fairs.

The division manages a composition-consulting office to develop writing ability. With two full-time professors, the office offers a writing consultation service for students via e-mail, web page, and interview.

General education is one of the essential educations to prepare actively for today¡¯s learning conditions, which demand a practical, inter-disciplinary education. Therefore, we offer diverse curricula to address these needs.
