Hallym University has been selected for the Software-driven University Support Project 2018
“Provides SW convergence education for the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution through advanced innovation of student-centered academic administration”
- -Establishment of a new College of Software Convergence
- -Founding Graduate School of Healthcare Big Data and Big Data Research Institute in cooperation with Hallym University Medical Center
- -Building up Software village/Startup village, 365 days of SW training & Support for startups
- -Setting up a community organization to activate local SW ecosystem and develop a regional digital leadership program
Hallym University was selected for the Software-driven University Support Project 2018 by Ministry of Science & ICT and Institute for Information & Communications Technology Promotion, and will be funded with a maximum of 11 billion won ($10,300,000) for a six-year period (1st year: 1 billion won, 2nd-6th year: 2 billion won per year).
With the project, Hallym University would focus its attention on training software professionals that will lead in an era of the 4th Industrial Revolution in various ways, such as establishing a new College of Software Convergence by reshaping its College of Engineering, and also developing problem-solving curricular, operating internship programs for overseas employment and startups co-managed by university and Industry.
In cooperation with Hallym University Medical Center, Hallym University is currently working on healthcare-SW convergence research based on medical big data, and is planning to establish Graduate School of Healthcare Big Data for the training of human resources who will lead the field of Big data and AI. Furthermore, Hallym will offer SW training and support for startup activities for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by building up Software village/Startup village as residential communities for education, living and startups.
Upon being selected for the Software-driven University Support Project, Hallym University is expected to harden its position as a leader of SW convergence education.
